Cast steel production: properties and composition

 

Cast steel is an iron alloy with a maximum carbon content of about 0.75%. Steel castings are solid metal objects produced by filling the voids in the mold with liquid steel. They have many of the same carbon steel and alloy steel, which can be produced as forged metals. The mechanical properties of cast steel are generally lower than that of forged steel, but the chemical composition is the same. Cast steel performance
