What is CNC turning?
In CNC turning, the strip material is fixed in a chuck and rotated (rotated), while various tools are "pressed" onto the strip material to remove the material and create the desired shape and features. When the part requires both turning and milling functions (as shown in the figure above), you can stop the rotation of the rod to mill (usually a flat area). This technology can achieve various shapes, sizes, features and even material types.
Tools are installed on the turret of the CNC turning center to place them correctly on the bar. We use CNC turning centers with "real-time" tools, which allow us to program various functions on a single part, such as drilling, grooving, and milling surfaces. CNC turning centers without moving tools will be limited to the number and types of features that can be produced on the part.

Although the starting material is usually round, it can also be in other shapes, such as hexagons. Each rod shape and size may require a specific "chuck" (a subtype of chuck that forms a collar around the object) to properly position the rod for processing.
Depending on the rod feeder, the length of the rod can vary.
The tools in the center of the CNC ribs are installed on a turret controlled by a computer.
CNCs with "real-time" tools can also stop rotation and add other functions, such as drilling, grooving, and milling surfaces.
Some CNC turning centers have one spindle that can do all the work from one side, while other turning centers (as shown in the picture above) have two spindles, one is the main spindle and the other is the sub-spindle. Parts can be partially processed on the main spindle, moved to the sub-spindle, and perform additional work on the other side of this configuration.
There are many types of CNC turning centers, they have various types of tool options, spindle options and outer diameter restrictions.
